Function Binds to actin and affects the structure of the cytoskeleton. At high concentrations, profilin prevents the polymerization of actin, whereas it enhances it at low concentrations. By binding to PIP2, it inhibits the formation of IP3 and DG.

Introduced Variation Glutamine absence (16 hours)
Induced Change PFN2 protein abundance levels: decrease (FC = 0.74)
                      Summary Introduced Variation         Induced Change
Disease Status Hepatocellular carcinoma [ICD-11: 2C12]
Details It is reported that glutamine absence causes the decrease of PFN2 protein abundance compared with control group.
